Vilnius hosts general convention of judges

“The history of Lithuanian courts, which began in the XIII century together with the statehood of Lithuania and has gone through many painful experiences, allows us to be proud of a strong community and accomplished work. This general convention of judges is special as it reflects the role of courts in consolidating the country’s statehood as well as the changes of the past century and these days,” Rimvydas Norkus, president of the Judicial Council, said.

Judges from the whole of Lithuania and the country’s leaders have been invited to the convention, with around 700 participants expected.

The implementation of the Judicial Council’s strategy and its results will be presented during the convention and issues important for the judicial system will be discussed, the National Courts Administration said.
