What’s on in Lithuania: Celebrate equality

BALTIC PRIDE

Baltic Pride is the rotating Baltic LGBT rights festival that has all of Lithuania abuzz. In addition to the parade for equal rights, there will be a number of other events in Vilnius linked to the festival that are definitely worth checking out.

Baltic Pride parade – 6/18, 12:00
The Baltic Pride March for Equality will proceed from Lukiškės square on Gedimino Prospektas to the Bernardine Garden behind Vilnius Cathedral.

Kreivės LGBT film festival – 6/13-6/23
The Kreivės film festival, which is running parallel to the Baltic Pride festival, has been showing films all week and will be showing them all weekend and next week as well.

Baltic Pride Park concert – 6/18, 16:30
After the parade, LOFTAS will host a concert in support of the Baltic Pride festival featuring a number of famous Lithuanian and international performers.

VILNIUS

Culture Night – 6/17-6/18, 18:00-2:00
Culture Night is an annual all-night cultural festival that fills nighttime Vilnius with all sorts of multimedia cultural events. It’s something that has to be experienced!

Herbal (Žolynų) Market – 6/19, 10:00-22:00
The annual herbal market on Gedimino Prospektas in Vilnius offers a wide array of herbs for tea, decoration, or traditional Lithuanian ethnic medicinal applications.

Ten Walls’ Equalized tour – 6/18, 20:00
Ten Walls, the hit Lithuanian electronic musician who went on a sabbatical after raising international condemnation of his statements about members of the LGBT community, is back to redeem himself during Baltic Pride in Vilnius.

KAUNAS

Muse live at Žalgirio Arena – 6/17, 20:00
World-famous UK rock band Muse will be playing in Žalgirio Arena as part of their Drones world tour.

Kaunas Fishermen’s Day – 6/19
On Sunday, Kaunas will celebrate fishermen and its location as a city of rivers with a festival that will feature music, family activities, food (expect fish) and, of course, a fishing competition!
