Education and Science Minister Jurgite Petrauskiene is favored by 18.6 percent of those polled and disliked by 28.1 percent, Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga is appreciated by 28.3 percent and disfavored by 31.5 percent and Agriculture Minister Bronius Markauskas is viewed positively by 13.3 percent of respondents and negatively by 13.7 percent, suggests the survey. All three ministers have been delegated by the ruling Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union.

“We could accentuate last month that all ministers had a positive balance, and now three of them feature a negative balance, with the health minister, education and science minister and the agriculture minister, Markauskas, going gradually down,” Vladas Gaidys, Vilmorus CEO, told BNS.

Among all politicians, President Dalia Grybauskaite remains the most favored public figure, with favors from 66.6 percent of respondents and dislikes of 19.7 percent.

Meanwhile, popularity of the prime minister and the parliamentary speaker is declining. LFGU-delegated Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis remains second in terms of popularity – support to the politician fell from 63.2 percent to 54.1 percent in June, while the number of those viewing him in negative light soared from 12.9 percent to 23.3 percent.

Parliamentary Speaker Viktoras Pranckietis of LFGU is the third most popular politician, with support down from 52 percent to 46.3 percent over the past month and dislikes up from 10.4 percent in May to 16.4 percent in June.

The Vilmorus poll of 1,035 respondents was conducted on June 2-10.
