Lithuanian parliament speaker: Two minimum wage raises next year

“I am sure it should be raised twice – in July and at the end of the year. This is very important because we are not likely to have such an opportunity in 2017-2019,” the Seimas speaker told the radio Žinių Radijas.

The latest minimum monthly wage increase was in July 2015, it was raised to EUR 325. Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has mentioned that he will propose to increase it to EUR 350 at the beginning of 2016. Meanwhile the Labour Party has proposed to the Government to increase the minimum monthly wage to EUR 437 from 1 July 2016.
