A new park in north Lithuania only for the barefooted

Visitors of the Eco Park in Drąseikiai village can stroll around on a 900 meter special track, but the catch is that they have to take off their shoes.

The bare feet trail is routed through a small forest. Travellers have to walk on wooden planks, pebbles, gravel, sand, cones, a reed path, manoeuvre on the rounded wooden stumps.

One of the barefoot park founders, 41 year old Sigitas Aukštikalnis, was surprised to find that the new tourist attraction has so immediately become this popular.

Aukštikalnis said that visitors can this way better see the forest as it is in reality – crude, with fallen trees.
