Krovinių Terminalas is seeking almost 6 million euros in damages from Klaipėdos Nafta. The company is also asking the court to declare the agreement between Klaipėdos Nafta and Orlen Lietuva null and void from the date it was concluded in 2011 and to punish Rokas Masiulis, a former CEO of the state-run oil terminal who organized and signed the deal.

According to Lietuvos Žinios, Klaipėdos Nafta and Orlen Lietuva several years ago concluded a prohibited agreement under which only the state-run oil terminal has the right to handle the Polish-owned crude refinery’s light oil product exports via the Klaipėda port.

Before the agreement took effect, Klaipėdos Nafta handled around 70 percent of the refinery’s light petroleum products, such as gasoline and diesel fuel, and 30 percent of these products were shipped via Krovinių Terminalas.
