Baltic culture from around the 10th and 11th centuries is still a mystery to many, an epoch full of questions even for the scholars and researchers of the period. The same could be said about the Vikings and the Viking Age across Europe. The main idea of the upcoming event is to attract people’s attention to this period of history and to inspire us to think about such questions as what were the possible relations of the Baltic tribes and the Vikings – who actually were our ancestors – what, through history, can we learn from them, and how can we use this ancient knowledge and the skills which come with it in modern times?
The event is being organized by the creative group “Baltic Vikings” in cooperation with the historical reenactment club “Vikingu Keimas”. This upcoming event is the first of 3 events which sets the scene for the arrival of Lithuania’s first Viking Ship on the shore of Neris River in Vilnius.
