The list of issues to be discussed also includes the countries’ participation in multinational missions and operations, NATO-EU cooperation in strengthening member states’ security, and the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) initiated by the European Union, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said in a press release.

The Nordic-Baltic meetings are traditionally attended by the defense ministers of Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and the head of the Defense Department of Iceland’s Foreign Ministry.

The Northern Group format also includes the German, UK, Dutch and Polish defense ministers.

Mattis visited Lithuania last May.
