Brexit ‘challenge, not disaster’, says Lithuanian EC commissioner

“Britain’s exit will be a very big challenge, but not a disaster, of course,” he said.

“If Germany or France decided to leave, it would be a bigger challenge, then we would start talking about some negative scenarios,” the commissioner told Žinių Radijas on Thursday.

“I am among those who believe that, under the current circumstances, the EU will survive the crisis (…). I don’t believe in predictions of the EU’s end or collapse,” said Andriukaitis.

The UK is holding a referendum on the country’s EU membership next Thursday, June 23.
