Business trips expected to boost Lithuania’s tourism industry

DELFI / Šarūnas Mažeika

The index rate for the first 6 months of 2015 stands at 66.2 points.

“Expectations in the tourism sector are not bad, trends are optimistic. We expect to see a growth, although rather modest. Compared to a study conducted half a year ago, the index rate has improved by 5.3 percent,” said Ugnė Radžiūnaitė from the Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists.

It is predicted that due to a falling number of Russian tourists Lithuania’s tourism sector will lose about EUR 6 million. The majority of incoming travellers are expected from Norway.
