Competition watchdogs to look into power reserve deal

DELFI / Kiril Čachovskij

Two other energy companies, UAB Kauno Termofikacinė Elektrinė (Kaunas Combined Heat and Power Plant) and AB Vilniaus Šilumos Tinklai (Vilnius Heating Grid), have turned to the competition watchdogs after the government entrusted the Elektrėnai plant, owned by AB Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba (Lithuanian Energy Production), to ensure the so-called tertiary electricity reserve for the country’s grid without considering alternative bids.

The Competition Council will consider whether the decision has not breached the Law on Competition, vz.lt reports.
