Lithuania’s regional development in the European Union‘s budget from 2021, down 12.9 percent from 7.3 billion euros in the 2014-2020 budget, Lithuanian EU Commissioner for Health and Safety Vytenis Andriukaitis told BNS Lithuania.
In his words, the EC’s proposal regarding regional support to Lithuania might change during negotiations between the European Council and European Parliament.
Andriukaitis also said the Lithuanian government failed to attempt and negotiate better funding with other EU states.
“I suggest that the prime minister should attend the European Council meetings, go to capitals and discuss, negotiate, think, act and form a coalition,” Andriukaitis said.
The EK on Tuesday approved the more detailed long-term budget proposal for 2021–2027.
