The defense lawyer said the 26 year-old suspect, who is of Polish nationality, partly accepts responsibility and says “the opinion was probably expressed in a too-harsh way”.
The second suspect is still in school.
Residing in Vilnius, Ecuadorian Fabian Sanchez says he was attacked at a bus stop on Jul 19. The two men beat him up, shouting “Lithuanian for Lithuanians”.
On Thursday, a protest was held in central Vilnius, aimed at encouraging the police to investigate hate crimes.
