Electricity price edges down in Lithuania

Lithuania imported on average 63 percent of electricity it consumed. 45 percent of electricity was imported from Latvia, Estonia, and Finland; the remaining share – from third countries. Compared with the previous week, import from Kaliningrad more than doubled, as a result of the end of the Kaliningrad thermal power plant’s repairs on 31 July.

On 27 July – 2 August, the international Latvia-Estonia interconnection capacity was used on average at 99 percent, Lithuania-Latvia – at 39 percent and Lithuania-Belarus – at 43 percent.
