Financial pressures on Lithuanian citizens among highest in EU

On Thursday, Eurostat published data indicating that 13.9% of people’s living conditions were limited by financial constraints, and that this number was 0.3% larger than it was in 2014.

Last year, 407,000 people in Lithuania experienced financial pressures that prevented them from paying their bills on time or from having vacations that they did not spend at home.

The only countries with larger levels of financial shortages were in Bulgaria (34.2%, 2.468 million people), Greece (22.2%, 2.377 million people) and Latvia (16.4%, 322,000 people).

In Estonia, this statistic stood at 4.5% (58,000 people), while the EU-wide average stands at 8.2% (41.092 million people).
