Matiss made the offer Wednesday during a meeting with Finnish Transport Minister Paula Risikko in Finland.
Finland is being offered to become a shareholder in the Rail Baltica joint venture, said Matiss.
Matiss and Risikko also discussed transport priorities of Latvia, the presiding country at the Council of the European Union, and Matiss informed Risikko about the implementation of the Rail Baltica project. He went on to say that consolidation of Europe’s network of railroads would be one of the objectives of Latvia’s Presidency.
