She will assume the new position on June 15.
Jurevičienė currently heads the Development Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ambassadorial post has been vacant since Vytautas Leškevičius was recalled from the position in February after spending just six months in the post. Leškevičius was appointed as Lithuania’s ambassador to NATO.
In Lithuania, ambassadors are appointed and recalled by the president upon a nomination of the government and approval of the parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee.
