Klaipėda-based AB Western Shipyard company group has acquired a floating dock to carry out repairs from the Montenegro company Adriatic Shipyard Bijela that will be the biggest in the Baltic States.

“Acquisition of this dock will provide new competitive options not only to repair ships of maximum parameters, but also to take up new market segments, service special purpose vessels: icebreakers, fishing boats, oil platforms serving vessels and so on,” said AB Western Shipyard plant General Manager Arnoldas Šileika.

The dock will be used for panamax ship type repair works. With a length of 235 metres and a width of 45 metres, it is the largest dock in the Baltic countries.
