Klaipėdos Nafta looks to secure EUR 300 million loan

The company said the tender was announced on Friday and offers are accepted until Sepember 7. It will take out the loan in two stages, borrowing EUR 150 million each time, and the company plans to sign the loan contract on November 2.

This autumn, the government of Lithuania plans to make the final decision on the purchase of the LNG terminal from Norway’s Hoegh LNG in ten years. Lithuania currently rents the facility from the Norwegian company. Energy Minister Romas Masiulis told BNS earlier that part of the planned loan would be used for covering the costs of renting the storage vessel and the remaining amount will go for its purchase.

Under the deal signed in March, 2012, Lithuania pays Hoegh LNG around EUR 168,550 for the LNG terminal, and will have paid EUR 689 million in ten years.
