Latvian Prime Minister Straujuma resigns

She made her decision to step down following a meeting with President Raimonds Vejonis. Straujuma refused to provide any more details about her resignation.

As a result, the current coalition government of Latvia will also step down.

Straujumas’ centre-right ruling coalition won the general election in Latvia in 2014 after strict statements about Russia’s actions in Ukraine.
