Lithuania government proposes ambassador to Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia

The nomination will be submitted to President Dalia Grybauskaitė.

Zakarevičienė holds a degree from Vilnius University in applied mathematics. In 1990, she started working at the Seimas, parliament, and until 2000 had worked as an assistant to the Seimas speaker, an assistant to a member of the Seimas, a spokeswoman of the Seimas speaker.

In 2000, Zakarevičienė started working at the Security Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Later she worked in the Lithuanian representation to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, Lithuanian Embassy to Moldova. From 2010 to 2014, she headed the Lithuanian Embassy to Poland. From 2014 Zakarevičienė has been appointed as Lithuania’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Austria.
