“The Migration Department has updated me that I was recognized a political refugee on September 17 and that I was granted a long-term permit to live in the Republic of Lithuania,” Nekrasov told BNS on Monday.
He said he was happy about “fast and objective” processing of his asylum application.
Nekrasov said he planned to start a small business in Lithuania.
“I also plan to learn the Lithuanian language to better integrate with the society, where I will probably have to live at least a few years until the situation in Russia changes,” said the Russian journalist.
“I am happy and grateful for the opportunity to live and work here and be fully useful in my country, Russia, and Lithuania,” he added.
