Lithuania to charge fees for access to seaside

The resort of Palanga will block access roads with toll bars while the National Park of the Curonian Spit and the Seaside Regional Park will start selling tickets to their visitors.

The decision to tax visits to protected areas has been made by the Ministry of Environment.

Park managers are now trying to figure out how to administer the new fee. The new regime at the seaside should be introduced next spring.
