Lithuania to join efforts against IS with humanitarian aid

“In response to the requests from US officials, Lithuania plans to join the coalition under development by sending humanitarian aid. In this specific case, a possibility of sending medication is discussed,” the ministry’s Public Relations Division said.

In the framework of the efforts to develop the international coalition, the Americans are holding airborne attacks against the Islamic State. France, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Jordan have joined the airborne attacks, Britain should also join the operation. Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark have pledged to send fighter-jets.

Labeled by the international community as a terrorist operation, the Islamic State currently controls large territories in Iraq and Syria.
