Lithuania to mint golden copies of 16-century coins

Made of pure 999 gold, the coins will be identical to the original ones used in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The first collectible coins of 1, 3 and 10 ducats will be dedicated to the period of ruling of Žygimantas Augustas in 1544-1572.

The issue will be very limited and the price will range from 800 to 6,000 litas (EUR 231-1,732).

All in all, the Lithuanian Mint plans to issue the copies of 11 Grand Duchy coins.
