Under a resolution passed by the government on Wednesday, Ambassador Lina Antanavičienė should be recalled as of 13 July. A relevant decree is yet to be signed by the president.
Antanavičienė has been heading the Embassy to China since the end of 2010. A diplomat to replace her is yet to be announced.
The government also decided to establish a position of cultural attaché at its Embassy to China due to a considerable increase in activity in the cultural cooperation between Lithuania and China over the past years.
Lithuania and China started their diplomatic relations in 1991.
