He will be a candidate of the Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats (conservatives), the head of the party’s Palanga division, Šarūnas Vaitkus, confirmed to BNS.
The elections to local governments will take place next February or March. For the first time, voters will be able to directly elect mayors as well as municipal councils.
