Growing Lithuanian diaspora communities in countries like Norway and Great Britain offers business opportunities for tax consultancy firms helping Lithuanians abroad with their tax declarations.
Incom Tax director Rūta Radziukynienė tells 15min.lt that her firm’s client list grew by a fifth this year. Many of the new clients are Lithuanians working in Norway who want to claim tax refunds.
She says that Lithuanians claim tax refunds averaging €1,500 from the Norwegian government.
Vaidas Paknys of RT Tax says that the number of clients who use the firm’s services has steadily grown because of emigration. In some countries, submitting tax declaration to the government is obligatory, so Lithuanians do it not just to claim tax returns, he says.
Both firms would not disclose how many clients they have, but Paknys says they are “in the thousands”.
