Lithuanian foreign minister to pay formal visit to Brazil

Linkevičius is scheduled to meet with Brazilian Minister of External Relations, Mauro Vieira, and pay a visit to the Economy Ministry.

The foreign minister will welcome the participants of the economic presentation of Lithuania and other Baltic States to the Federation of Industries of the State of Sao Paulo. He will meet with representatives of Lithuanian enterprises taking part in the business mission and will visit the stand of Lithuanian companies in the Latin American automotive component exhibition.

During the five-day visit the foreign minister is scheduled to meet with the leadership of Brazil’s diplomatic academy, take part in the discussion with young diplomats and give a lecture at the Institute of International Relations of Sao Paulo University. Furthermore, Linkevičius is going to meet with ambassadors of the United States, the European Union and Eastern Partnership countries residing in Brazil and will give interviews to the Brazilian media.

Next, the minister will open Lithuania’s Consulate General in Sao Paulo, where the 25th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuania’s independence will be marked, exhibition Unseen Lithuania will be opened and folk dances will be demonstrated.

The foreign minister will also visit the historic Lithuanian neighbourhood in Sao Paulo and will meet with members of the Lithuanian-Brazilian community.
