Eduardas Borisovas will likely take over as Lithuania’s ambassador to Poland from Šarūnas Adomavičius, who is retiring, on December 3.
A journalist by education, Borisovas started working for the Foreign Ministry in 1989 and currently heads its Latin America, Africa, Asia and Pacific Department.
Jūratė Raguckienė, the Foreign Ministry’s chancellor, is to be appointed as Lithuania’s ambassador to Croatia on January 28.
Lithuania established its embassy in Zagreb in July. The ambassador will also be accredited to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Kosovo.
Donatas Kušlys, head of the State and Diplomatic Protocol Department’s Presidential Protocol Division at the Foreign Ministry, is proposed as ambassador to Austria.
Lithuanian ambassadors are appointed by the president on the government’s recommendation and with approval from the parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee.
