Lithuanian municipalities’ revenues €80m higher in 2015

It is estimated that last year, municipal budgets received a total of more than €1.23 billion in income – 7% more than projected.

The Lithuanian government has approved a proposal from the Ministry of Finance to allocate more than €385,000 to the three municipalities that have collected less revenue than expected in 2015.

Only three municipalities – Visaginas, Mažeikiai district and Skuodas district were affected. After an evaluation of municipality budget execution reports and the tax exemptions issued by municipal councils at the expense of municipality budgets, €101,000 has been allocated to Visaginas municipality, €133,000 to Mažeikiai district municipality and €150,000 to Skuodas district municipality.
