After the agreement takes effect, OECD legal status will be established in Lithuania. The organisation and its representatives, executives and experts will be given the privileges, exemptions and immunities that are layed out in the agreement.
Last July, Lithuania was officially invited to start negotiations to join the organization. OECD currently has 34 member states.
