According to the PM, the Government will complete the optimisation of the business surveillance system in 2016, which will reduce the number of inspectors. During the process, around 1,500 legislative acts will be amended, among them – more than 100 laws. PM Butkevičius says that the Government is going to continue the energy sector’s reforms because energy prices are the basic component of competitiveness.

The head of the Government also reminded that the state budget of 2016 provides for fiscal policy instruments which aim at stimulating economic growth. The measures include not only funding of different activities – such as investments in transport and energy infrastructure. Apart from the EU funds, the state will spend EUR 1.230 billion on economic promotion projects. Also, specific measures were established to promote domestic industry viability in order counterbalance the decrease in exports or temporary slowdown.
