“From the data we have today, there was no official or any other form of dependence between Majauskas and the individual who submitted the data to the editorial office,” prosecutors said on Thursday.

The prosecutors were approached by Gabrielius Landsbergis, the leader of the opposition conservative Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats, over the sexual misconduct allegations.

“After studying the motion and specifying the data, a decision was taken by prosecutors not to open a pre-trial investigation (…), as there were no activities that would contain features of a crime or a criminal offense,” reads the communique.

The Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that no victims had turned to the law-enforcement in the case.
