LG and CMG officials discussed possibilities for freight transportation via Lithuania during their meeting this week.
“Our idea is simple. As Chinese companies will operate in that park, their products will have to be shipped out. They want to finish the first stage in May and to open part of the territory. Once specific plants are launched, there will be a need for receiving goods by sea,” he told BNS.
Lazauskas said that he had invited the heads of the industrial park to come to Lithuania and sign memorandums on cooperation between the Vilnius and Kaunas intermodal terminals and the Belarusian terminal.
CMG President Li Jianhongu said in March 2016 that Lithuania was an increasingly close partner.
