Members of the Board of the Lithuanian World Community (PLB), chairpersons and representatives of Lithuanian communities and youth organisations will hold sittings at the Lithuanian Parliament. Nearly 150 participants from 33 countries will consider issues relevant to Lithuanian communities and expatriates.
The participants will discuss about the present and the future of the PLB, as well as about education of Lithuanians and cooperation with Lithuanian institutions. The PLB will present its activity report. Reports will be delivered by members of the Board and guests. Furthermore, the organisation will approve operational activities for the next three years. The 15th Seimas of the PLB will also elect the new Board and chairperson.
In addition, exhibition Lithuanian Publishing in Western Europe 1944-1952 will be opened at the Parliament Gallery of the Lithuanian Seimas on 15 July. The exhibition was prepared by the Martynas Mažvydas National Library.
Continuing the latest tradition of the PLB, a concert on the occasion of the World Lithuanian Unity Day will take place at the National Drama Theatre in Vilnius on 17 July. Sixteen Lithuanian soloists and groups from eight countries will perform.
The PLB Seimas is the highest governing body of the organisation. It is summoned every three years. It is one of the most important events of the PLB. The PLB Seimas deals with all matters relating to the organisation. It elects the Board, the Supervision Commission and the Conflict Resolution Committee.
