Lithuanians observe best solar eclipse in years (photos)

The Moon covered about three fourths of the Sun’s disc at around noon local time.

The eclipse started at 10:55 and peaked at 12:04. In the western part of the country, a 78-percent eclipse could be observed. However, the view was somewhat obscured by clouds. Meanwhile in the capital Vilnius, where the sky was clear, people crowded in squares to look at the unique phenomenon.
