NATO jets scrambled once from Lithuania last week over Russian warplanes

The Allied jets were scrambled last Tuesday over An-26 airplane flying from mainland Russia to the Kaliningrad region with its onboard transponder on and maintained contact with flight controllers, however, had not filed a flight plan, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said.

The NATO air-policing mission is conducted from Lithuania and Estonia.
