Navickas to replace late MP Rokas Zilinskas in parliament – watchdog

Lithuania’s Central Electoral Commission on Tuesday revoked the deceased parliamentarian’s mandate and issued a mandate to Navickas, who was first in line on the Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats’ list.

Navickas, a former editor-in-chief of the Bernardinai.lt portal, is to be sworn in as a member of the Seimas on Jun. 15.

Zilinskas died after a complicated disease at the age of 45. The former journalist was elected to the parliament in 2008, 2012 and 2016.
