Opposition leader evaluates government work: 4 out of 10

Andrius Kubilius

“The most negative thing is that the most prominent feature of the Government’s activities last year was a complete lack of new initiatives: its stagnation when it comes to ideas and absence of ideological leadership are slowly turning into economic stagnation,” MP Kubilius said, reviewing the Government’s activity report for 2014.

The politician welcomed the fact that Butkevičius’ Government was continuing the projects which were launched by the previous conservative government.

“There are some positive things, for example, the fact that the Government continued the implementation of what we had started, such as the construction of the LNG terminal, the euro introduction or something that all political parties agree on, such as the increase of defence funding. Another positive thing is that the Government, working very slowly and failing to do anything new, essentially has not done anything terribly bad. The economic growth still remains positive,” he said.
