One of the possible candidates for the interior minister’s chair is a lawyer, Vilnius municipal council member Rimas Andrikis.
However, Andrikis said: “I hear a lot of talk about myself, but I have nothing to do with these deals or with nominations for the position. I do not have the desire to become a minister. I have a job.”
Another possible candidate Povilas Gylys, is a member of the Order and Justice party‘s parliamentary group.
“Really I do not want to talk about this, because it is still too early. I think the story will continue for the benefit of public relations but I am not sure about anything. It is more of a theoretical possibility,” said Gylys stressing that he, like Skvernelis, was not a member of the Order and Justice party.
“I have the candidates in my head. Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius will be the first to hear who the candidates are. I will present one of them officially in the coming days,” said Order and Justice leader Rolandas Paksas.
