Poultry consumption in Lithuania doubled over decade

Data of Statistics Lithuania the Lithuanian Institute of Agrarian Economics show that in 2013 Lithuanians were supplied with a total of 251,000 tonnes of various kinds of meat, of which poultry accounted for 96,300 tonnes.

During the Lithuanian Aviculture Conference held Wednesday in Kaišiadorys, Vytautas Tevelis, president of the Aviculture Association, said the meat and poultry sector currently produces a total of 270 eggs and 30 kilograms of poultry for every resident of the country.

Poultry production worldwide grows 2-3 percent every year.
