The “virus” of nazism is once again spreading in Europe, the Russian president told the Serbian daily Politika on the eve of his visit to Belgrade. Putin is coming to Serbia to take part in events commemorating the 70th anniversary of Belgrade’s liberation from the Nazis.
Putin claimed that “unfortunately, the vaccine for the virus of nazism that was administered in Nuremberg is losing effectiveness in some European states”.
“A clear example – open manifestations of neonazism that have become commonplace in Latvia and other Baltic states,” Putin said.
He also commented on Ukraine and “an anti-constitutional coup d’état, fueled by nationalists and other radical groups”.
