Russia to conduct ‘most extensive nuclear missile tests in 25 years’

The Russian military are to test 16 long-distance rockets during the exercise with the missile tests to be conducted in the Arctic, according to the German newspaper Bild, disguised as an exercise by two Russian submarines.

However, the German newspaper said the true purpose of the exercise was to show Russia’s military might to the United States.

Moscow is also concerned about North Korea‘s recent reports that it has nuclear warheads ready to use, according to Bild.

The last time Russia conducted similar tests was in 1991 under the Soviet Union. Back then, the Novoskopsk submarine, stationed in the Pacific Ocean near the Kamchatka Peninsula, fired RSM-54 ballistic missiles for 15 minutes.
