Russian state TV attempts to sneak into dissident conference in Lithuania

DELFI / Karolina Pansevič

“They attempted to make their way into a private territory, they deceived the security. I believe they were escorted outside and released. This type of conduct is unethical,” Linkevičius told BNS.

The Russian journalists had told security that they had come to pick up a person from the closed forum. The journalists reportedly entered the main building but were stopped in a hallway when it was seen that they were carrying a microphone with a Rossiya logo.

Police was called to the scene over the incident. The event was attended by Russian intellectuals, journalists, politicians and public figures.

The forum is organised by the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry in cooperation with the Vilnius-based Eastern European Studies Centre and the International Elections Study Centre.
