Seimas’ speaker drops plans to go to Baku forum co-hosted by Putin

Loreta Graužinienė

The 5th International Humanitarian Forum is being held in Baku later this week under the auspices of the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan.

The Seimas Board last week unanimously gave its approval for Graužinienė’s four-day trip to Azerbaijan’s capital. The speaker planned to leave for Baku on Wednesday, but changed her mind at the last minute, the paper wrote.

Putin continues the tradition of co-hosting the Baku forum, which was initiated by Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s then-president and now prime minister, and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.
