Three new students enrolled in Lithuania’s seminaries

Viktoras Ačas, rector of Telšiai seminary, told BNS that one candidate applied to the seminary but was rejected.

“One applied but we rejected him, therefore, there will be no students this year,” said Ačas. “There’s nothing we can do, it may be a chance for us to think about building connections with today’s young people and possibly rethink the way of speaking we have chosen.”

Darius Chmieliauskas of Kaunas Archdiocese said four students would attend Kaunas seminary this autumn, including three new ones and one who will resume his education after an academic break. A total of five applications were received this year.

In his words, the numbers have not changed much from previous years.
