Over a month, the turnover of enterprises trading in food products decreased by 11.7 percent, of those engaged in retail trade in automotive fuels – 2.4 percent, of those engaged in trading in non-food products -2.6 percent at constant prices. The largest decrease in turnover was observed in retail sale of clothing (24 percent) and sporting equipment (22.3 percent), while an increase – in retail sale of books (47.9 percent) in specialised stores, Statistics Lithuania said.
In September 2014, against September 2013, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises increased by 5.7 percent at constant prices (working day adjusted – 4.9 percent). The turnover of enterprises trading in food products increased by 3.2, of those engaged in retail trade in automotive fuels – 9.1, of those engaged in retail trade in non-food products – 6.5 percent at constant prices. The largest increase in turnover was observed in retail sale via mail order houses or via the Internet (42 percent).
In September, the turnover (VAT excluded) of food and beverage service enterprises amounted to LTL 137.8 million (EUR 39.9 million) and, against August, decreased by 10.8 percent at constant prices. Compared to September 2013, the turnover of enterprises engaged in the said activities grew by 6.8 percent at constant prices.
