Two new MPs take oaths in the Seimas

Arminas Lydeka was elected as a member of the Liberals’ Movement and on Tuesday joined the political group replacing fellow party member Petras Auštrevičius who is leaving to work in the European Parliament. The Liberals’ Movement political group which is in the opposition has 10 seats.

“I am pleased to return to work in a strong team of liberals. I hope to use my experience during this term of office working on foreign and European affairs. I will also continue to fight for consolidation of human rights in Lithuania,” said Lydeka.

The liberal MP will work in the Seimas Committees on Foreign and European Affairs.

Lydeka was elected in the previous terms of the Seimas in 2000-2004, 2004-2008 and 2008-2012.

Stasys Brundza who also took an oath as a Member of Parliament was elected running for the Way of Courage Party but will join the Order and Justice Party’s political group. Brundza will replace one of the founders of the Way of Courage Party Neringa Venckienė whose mandate was revoked by the Seimas.
