Ušackas to announce if he’ll run for Lithuanian president Wednesday

Ušackas, 53, held the post of foreign minister in 2008 to 2010. He has served as ambassador to the United States, Britain, Afghanistan and Russia.

Economist Gitanas Nausėda is also expected to announce his decision this month.

Both men will also have to decide this month whether to contest in the conservative Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats‘ primaries for next May’s presidential election.
